Bryan Elzie Dixon was born and raised in the city of Flint, Michigan, to a very musical family.  Throughout his childhood he was heavily influenced by early rock & roll music as both his father and uncle were the cornerstones of a very popular '50s & '60s rock & roll review band.  Growing up watching his family perform gave Bryan the desire to perform at a very early age and he started to imitate a few of his favorite rock & roll musicians such as Ricky Nelson, Fats Domino and Elvis Presley.

Like a lot of people, Bryan was especially drawn to Elvis.  His popular song, "Hound Dog" was the first rock & roll song Bryan learned the words to and even performed in public at the age of 5.  However, it wasn't until adulthood that Bryan would rekindle his love for the "King of Rock & Roll."

Through his schooling, Bryan was active in choir, band and provided lead vocals and bass guitar for cover bands during high school and college.  He was even given the opportunity to play in the same band as his uncle, father and brother!

In 2012 Bryan wanted to achieve more with his musical talents.  He wanted to help others in the community in some way.  Realizing that rock & roll music was something that relates to people of all ages, Bryan viewed the music and persona of the "King of Rock & Roll" as the perfect avenue to do just that.

With the thought of helping people in mind, Bryan initially used his ability to sing and perform Elvis songs as a way to attract people to various church fundraisers.  As his act progressed, he branched out to performing at assisted living homes and veteran halls.  People began requesting more performances and by the end of 2012, the "Shades of a King - Elvis Tribute Show" was born!

Shades of a King - Elvis Tribute Show is a high energy rock & roll review that features popular Elvis Presley songs throughout the 1950s, '60s and '70s.  Tribute artist, Bryan Elzie Dixon, provides a memorable act that has often caused listeners to ask if it was his voice or Elvis' that they were hearing ... we assure you that no lip syncing is done at his shows ... Each show covers Elvis favorites and doesn't shy away from audience participation and requests.

Much like Elvis, Bryan is passionate about music and is always able to have fun while he performs.  He loves what he does and it shows!  We're sure you'll love it too!
